Can chocolate actually be healthy for you?
Well, a new study confirms that chocolate may have some surprising cardiovascular health benefits.
In a recent meta-analysis (published just before Easter) it was concluded that chocolate intake was not associated with risk for several chronic diseases.
Researchers did observe a small inverse association between chocolate consumption and risk of coronary heart disease and stroke.
The study acknowledged several methodological issues.
One of which was not distinguishing milk from dark chocolate which might have understated the health benefits of high-flavanol dark chocolate.
As they say:
”All things in moderation, including moderation.”
Have a great weekend.
